How to Explore:

    You can stay somewhere nearby Taj Mahal. From railway station to Taj mahal or Bus stop to Taj mahal auto wala or taxi charges around 150 to 250 rupees. You will also get Ola and Uber services.

Taj Mahal is open from 6 AM to 6.30. The good suggestion is to visit the Taj Mahal as early as possible just to avoid any crowds. You will also be able to take good pictures without much crowd.

There are two type of tickets are available
For Indians,
Monument Entry fees-> 50 rupees per person
Monument and Museum ->250 rupees per person

For Foreigners,
Entry Fees -> 1200 rupees per person

The Personal suggestion is that you should get an entry ticket for both Monument and Museum. So, that you can visit the main Dome of the Taj Mahal. You can see inside the architecture also.

You can skip the queue to get a ticket by paying online or the QR code which is placed at the Entrance Gate. They give you some discount also , if you pay online.

You will also get a Guide for 200 to 250 rupees who can explain the history of the Taj Mahal. They will also help you to click pics of Taj Mahal. It will be good for the people who are new to this place.

Stay

The recommended place to stay is near Taj Mahal. You will get more option with affordable price. You can also get a view of Taj Mahal from Hotel terrace. Most of the Hotels are having their restaurant at the Terrace to give you view of Taj mahal.
Room price starts at minimum: 350 rupees for one room which can occupy 2 adults.

Food:

You will find a good variety of food options near by Taj mahal. The swiggy and zomato services are also available.

Personal tips:

  1. Create a google sheet to track your budget and actual expenses . It can also be shared with all people with whom you are traveling.
  2. Create the travel checklist in google sheet not to forget the things required
  3. Plan to visit as early as possible to avoid crowds.
  4. If you are planning to get any souvenir, better to get at Shops at Taj Mahal. They give you a lower price. I got a magnet type of souvenir at just 20 rupees, but the same was sold for 100 rupees in Delhi.
  5. Check local holidays of Agra (Because you may not find much restaurant or travels opened for ex: Holi or Diwali)
  6. Don't plant to visit on Friday to Taj Mahal as it will be closed.
  7. Try to keep enough buffer between one travel to another travel just to avoiding missing bus,train or flight
  8. Note down all emergency number in shared google sheet
  9. Create whatsapp group and keep add all important docs, itinerary planning sheet, emergency contact
  10. Bargain as much as you can, especially when you buy anything
  11. Get shoe cover outside for 10 rupees,without shoe cover you won't be allowed inside Taj Mahal(You will get Shoe Cover inside also, but they charge 20 rupees)
  12. Try to pay online to get your ticket, it will save time as well as you will get some discount
  13. There are cloak room available at the Taj Mahal entrance. You can keep your bag at any size at free of cost.
  14. Snacks and Tripods are not allowed to be carried inside Taj Mahal. You may need to keep them at Cloak Room
  15. When you take a snow jacket, you take a waterproof snow jacket which they will charge 250 per set with snow jacket and boot. But you can again bargain to get around 150 rupees. Get the snow jacket only if you are going to do snow activities otherwise just get a snow boot which will be 100 rupees.
